What’s been happening:

Richard E. Guy (aka "Rich Guy") Penn State, Mechanical Engineering Class of 1950 After training at the US Merchant Marine Academy, and serving in the Merchant Marine in WWII, I graduated from Penn State as a Mechanical Engineer in 1950. I then worked as an engineer for Dupont in Texas until my retirement at age 58. I have been awarded several US patents for inventions such as an air purifying helmet, a packaging machine, and a dust free auger. I also developed the heat transfer cement called "Thermon." My wife, Janet Kramer Guy and I just celebrated our 61st anniversary. We took a 3 month honeymoon in a 37' sailboat, symbolizing my lifelong love of the sea. We have four children, who are now a physical therapist, lawyer, real estate broker and engineer. We built our dream home in Baytown, Texas on Burnet Bay in 1960, but my wife and I now live in Austin, Texas after several hurricanes flooded our bay home. Before that move, however, I built a 24 ft. catamaran sail boat, got my pilot's license at age 58 and built my own plane: a Rutan long E-Z "Canard Pusher." I had several years of flying adventures around the country after that. My wife and I are now in our mid 80s, and are enjoying our 4 children and our 12 grandchildren, and wondering how the "Nittany Lions" will be doing this next season! The years have been good, and I always appreciated the fine education from Penn State that made it possible to have a happy, and full life.
